How long have you been riding?
Currently I am 15 years old and have been skiing for 13 years. I’ve been skiing since the age of 2 years old. I started on a small mountain called Snow Ridge. I lived in upstate New York for 12 years. I always had love for jumps and kickers. When I Moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, I found my love for skiing after a long day of being harassed for my gaper looking ski outfit. I decided to prove myself to my SSWSC (Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club) group by launching a 50 foot powder jump. Being the only one to land it I gained respect and self confidence. From that day I never hated on a tourist (unless for reasons for dangerous conduct) and decided this hobby was actually my new life time sport. This November I look forward to skiing my 14th season.

What is your favorite Akinz item?
The custom beanie option is very, very cool. I find that when a company is willing to create something custom for a customer it shows that the company is down to earth and realizes that everyone has a preference, so why not give them what they want. And I find this a sign of a quality company.
Best trick in your pocket?
Rail Trick: Hippy Killer 450 to Pretzel 270 out.
(Hippy Killer is when you pick up your back foot and bring it to your back and slap the side of a rail, resulting in a rail spin)
Air Trick: Tail Blunt 900′s
Flatland Trick (Tricks done with-out the aid of jumps or rails): Hand-Plant Cork 360′s.
What is it about skiing that gets you excited?
I get excited about skiing because I find it to be a language and an art. I can write beautiful poems and abstract masterpieces with skiing. There is no right or wrong way to do it; what counts is what satisfies the artist who creates the picture. Critics are great for alternative views and ideas, but should never be taken so seriously that it takes away the originality of the artist. With this infinite opportunity, skiing is my way of expressing my inner self.
